The Promise of the Son

One Belief

Trapped in a Norman Rockwell painting.

Shoved in a box and left to rot!

Why do we do it? Why do we chase the dream?

Money. Fame. Accomplishment.

Is it really all that it’s cracked up to be?

Is this really the life we were meant to live?

Perfectionist. Control Freak. Unhappy.

You chase it! Need it! Want it!

A pounding drum in your ears –

Achieve! Achieve! Achieve!

Why can’t you break free?

Why do you follow the path –

Of least resistance.

Don’t conform! Do not give in!

Be – Just Be.

Slam open the box! Bust down the door!

Push against it all.

You were meant for greater things.

Not things of this world.

Fleshly – obsessive things.

No. Gifts! God-given gifts.

Don’t waste them. Don’t shove them in a box.

Set them free! Paint your own ideas.

Spreading joy and hope.

The colors of the rainbow –

And everything in-between.

Be the you, you were meant to be.

“I knew you in your Mother’s womb.”

That’s what He said.

Whispers of knowing and compassion.

He takes your hand –

Leads you away.

Away from the darkness of this world.

Shunning labels and expectations.

Embracing the promise of the Son.

“Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power.” 1 Corinthians 6:14

“When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.” Colossians 3:4
